## Summary

The Forestry Commission, based in Edinburgh, has awarded a Framework Agreement for the supply of Forestry Planting Stock in Scotland, covering three specific lots: Bare-Root Conifer, Bare-Root Broadleaves, and Cell-Grown Conifers. The estimated total value of the agreement is approximately £6.2 million, with a duration of three years starting from June 2019, and an optional extension of an additional 12 months. This procurement process utilised an open method as part of the active stage that follows its completion, having received bids from various suppliers.

This Framework Agreement presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on environmental protection, especially those involved in forestry and related sectors. Companies engaged in supply and cultivation of diverse tree species, particularly those with expertise in the specified lots, would greatly benefit from this contract. As the Forestry Commission continues to manage a growing need for sustainable forestry practices, this can be an ideal avenue for businesses looking to expand into government contracts and contribute to environmental initiatives.
