## Summary

The Scottish Government is conducting a procurement process titled "RESAS/018/18 - Structure-function analysis of SEFARI", aimed at analysing the relationships and identity of the SEFARI consortium comprising five main Research Organisations. This procurement is categorised under services and is taking place in Edinburgh, with the tender period having closed on 18th March 2019. The procurement method is open, allowing wide participation, and the contract value is set at £81,773. The award for this tender was finalised on 2nd April 2019.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those involved in research and analysis services, as well as organisations that specialise in team dynamics and collective identity within academic or research environments. Companies with a focus on public sector contracts and expertise in the education and medical research fields would be well-positioned to leverage this opportunity, potentially partnering with universities or public research institutes to enhance their offerings.

## Notice

The research aim of this project is to analyse how the 5 MRPs who are the main members of the SEFARI consortium currently relate to their collective identity as SEFARI, how they benefit from the collective identity, and how the SEFARI identity can best contribute to the next cycle of funding (2021 onwards) alongside the MRPs, CoEs and other bodies.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The research objectives for this project are as follows: Determine the spectrum of research and other activity in the MRPs and the contribution of RESAS-funded research to their activity and operation, compared to other relevant organisations (e.g. comparator research institutes, CoEs, HEIs); Analyse how the MRPs currently relate these activities to their collective identity as SEFARI, and how they benefit from this collective identity, compared to other networks of similar institutes (e.g. former BBSRC National Institutes of Bioscience; CSIRO; INRA); Synthesise, given these results, the likely constraints and opportunities for future RESAS-funded research; Propose potential modifications to the commissioning of the next cycle of funding (2021 onwards) to deliver the best outcomes.
