Lot 1

Orkney Islands Council ("the Council") is a local authority providing a range of amenity and community services to a population of approximately 22,000 inhabitants. The Council wishes to engage a Service Provider which will commission a rights, advocacy and participation service that help children and young people feel respected, included, listened to and understood. This means that the successful provider will make sure the rights of children, young people are promoted, protected and respected and that decisions in children's best interests are paramount. The advocacy and participation service will be available for vulnerable children and young people, especially those who are involved in complex decision making processes. This will encompass the full range of Orkney's looked after children population, including those who have been formerly looked after and those who are accessing mental health services. We also require that the Service Provider will be a key stakeholder in driving Orkney's Corporate Parenting agenda. This may include, for example, helping to provide Corporate Parenting training or facilitating work with partners to deliver the Corporate Parenting Plan.. The contract value which is not to exceed 250,000 GBP comprises the initial term plus the additional 2 x 12 month option to extend.

Renewal: The contract is for an initial term of 36 months with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 month periods.
