The contract was formally signed on 1st March 2019, with the location of the procurement being Edinburgh, Scotland.

This tender presents a unique opportunity for businesses in the fields of robotics and advanced technology, particularly those specialising in robotic systems and components. Suppliers who are capable of providing state-of-the-art robotic equipment, assembly, calibration, and software integration would find this procurement particularly relevant. Given the emphasis on innovative applications for research and industrial uses, companies with expertise in quadrupedal robotics, navigation solutions, and engineering services could leverage this opportunity to enhance their market presence and capabilities.

### Procurement Information

The platform is an entirely self-contained robot quadruped capable of a variety of locomotion gaits with a battery life of 3 hours in the new models. It also carries a variety of ranging and optical sensors for perception. It will be used in research regarding point-to-point navigation and mapping. It will also be used to develop novel quadruped walking gaits and compliant contact. Possible applications of this work are industrial inspection and disaster response. The robot will use the same software and sensor systems (spinning LIDAR and stereo camera) as our Husky and Valkyrie robots so as to maximize compatibility and cross use of software between our equipment.
