## Summary

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) Ltd is currently conducting a selective procurement process for the project titled "Base of Design for an Energy Management System and Hydrogen Electrolyser Integration Works". This tender falls within the works category and is located in Stromness, Orkney, UK. The deadline for submission is 24 April 2019, which was extended from the original date of 17 April 2019. Interested parties should note that the procurement involves modifying an existing energy management system to integrate a new hydrogen electrolyser alongside enhancing the electrical infrastructure at the site.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the engineering, renewable energy, and electrical infrastructure sectors. Companies with expertise in energy management systems, high voltage electrical works, and civil engineering will find this project especially relevant. By participating, successful contractors can contribute to advancing energy sustainability while potentially expanding their portfolio in the growing renewable energy sector.

## Notice

The objective of this ITT is to appoint a contractor to modify and expand an existing energy management system and high voltage electrical infrastructure, installed at an existing EMEC site. The energy management system must control the power generation and demand at site as an export limiting scheme, with the aim of minimising curtailment and maximising the energy captured by the connected renewable generators. The modifications involve the integration of an additional hydrogen electrolyser and the expansion of the associated energy management system and high voltage electrical infrastructure. Modification will be required to both the electrical infrastructure, but also to the associated control system and associated hardware. Civil works are required to facilitate the placement of the additional hydrogen electrolyser which would involve the connection of control and power cabling around the site.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The scope of work involves the design, equipment supply and construction works required for the integration of a new Hydrogen electrolyser. The electrolyser will be supplied by others as a packaged unit. The unit will tie into an existing 11kV Hawker Siddeley Eclipse switchboard. which will be extended as part of this project. In addition, an existing Siemens PLC (which currently interfaces with an existing electrolyser and wind turbine) will be modified to interface with the new equipment. This will include; - Modification of mimic panel - tie in of open close pushbuttons and status feedback lights - Tie in of new switchgear and associated software modifications - Integration of new electrolyser signals, controls and HMI screens - Development of new control logic associated with electrolyser selection, circuit breaker position, set point calculation and system protection - Development of new HMI screens for existing electrolyser - Hand-off of data to existing EMEC GE iFix SCADA system - (Optional) modification to existing GE iFix SCADA and associated historian
