The strategy should build on the work to date, and provide a focus and direction for the development of active travel infrastructure, facilities and promotion going forward. It must take account of and reflect the specific connectivity challenges Shetland faces as a largely rural island community. The strategy will provide a basis for the appointment of an Active Travel Officer to coordinate future activity..
