Include: -Preparation of Young Carer Statements -Information/advice including awareness raising of local/national Carers issues -Individual/group support to Young Carers -A range of short breaks -Promotion of Young Carer involvement in providing views and feedback

### Lot Information

Information, Advice and Support for Carers and Young Carers

Lot 1 of the contract aims to provide a full range of preventative approaches and support that enables Carers of call ages in Dumfries and Galloway to achieve and maintain optimum wellbeing and be fully supported to continue their caring role. Key elements shall include the promotion and provision of: - Information and advice services in line with the prevailing legislation and Scottish Government guidance for the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. This will include the development of regular promotion and communication of key messages to Carers and co-ordination of Carers Week with all relevant services. - Consistent information and advice is to be accessible for all Carers regardless of location, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, faith/religion or social background within the Dumfries and Galloway region. - Assist Carers to access and understand information relevant to them and make appropriate choices or decisions which enables fuller control of their lives / independence. - Offer additional information, advice and support face-to-face, video call, telephone, website / social media. This could be on a one-to-one or as part of a group. - Information on short break opportunities. - Services should be available to ensure that carer needs are met at key points of transitions. - Provide training opportunities to support and enhance the caring role. - Promotion and support to ensure Carer representation and engagement at national and local levels, developing links with other service providers, professionals and relevant support organisations. - Supporting Carers to complete Young Carers Statements as part of the process with Dumfries and Galloway Council and reviewing where necessary. Supporting carers to complete Adult Carer Support Plans and reviewing these where required.

Renewal: This contract is for an initial 3 year period with the option to extend for two 12 month periods at the sole descretion of the Council.

Information, Advice and Support for Parent Carers of Children under 18

Lot 2 of the contract aims to support Carers who are caring for children and young people under the age of 18. This is by offering a range of preventative approaches and support that enables Carers to achieve and maintain optimum wellbeing and be fully supported to continue their caring role. Key elements shall include the promotion and provision of: - Consistent information and advice is to be accessible for all Carers regardless of location, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, faith/religion or social background within the Dumfries and Galloway region. - Assist Carers to access and understand information relevant to them and make appropriate choices or decisions which enables fuller control of their lives / independence. - Offer additional information, advice and support face-to-face, video call, telephone, website / social media. This could be on a one-to-one or as part of a group. - Information on short break opportunities. - Services should be available to ensure that Carer needs are met at key points of transitions. - Provide training opportunities to support and enhance the caring role. -Promotion and support to ensure Carer representation and engagement at national and local levels, developing links with other service providers, professionals and relevant support organisations. - Supporting Carers to complete Adult Carer Support Plans and reviewing these where required.

Information, Advice and Support for Carers of People Living with Mental Ill Health

Lot 3 of the contract aims to support Carers who are caring for someone with mental ill health. This is by offering a range of preventative approaches and support that enables Carers to achieve and maintain optimum wellbeing and be fully supported to continue their caring role. Key elements shall include the promotion and provision of: - Consistent information and advice is to be accessible for all Carers regardless of location, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, faith/religion or social background within the Dumfries and Galloway region. - Assist Carers to access and understand information relevant to them and make appropriate choices or decisions which enables fuller control of their lives / independence. - Offer additional information, advice and support face-to-face, video call, telephone, website / social media. Lot 4 of the contract aims to support Carers who are caring for someone living with dementia This is by offering a range of preventative approaches and support that enables Carers to achieve and maintain optimum wellbeing and be fully supported to continue their caring role. Key elements shall include the promotion and provision of: - Consistent information and advice is to be accessible for all Carers regardless of location, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, faith/religion or social background within the Dumfries and Galloway region. - Assist Carers to access and understand information relevant to them and make appropriate choices or decisions which enables fuller control of their lives / independence. - Offer additional information, advice and support face-to-face, video call, telephone, website / social media. Counselling for Carers

Lot 5 is for a counselling service would be available to support Carers to improve their health and wellbeing. This service would be available for Carers who require counselling due to psychological impact of their caring role which can include the end of a caring role or bereavement. This service would include - provision of Counselling Services for Carers at any stage in the caring journey regardless of location, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, faith/religion, or social background within Dumfries and Galloway who have been referred by a Carer Organisation or the Statutory Partners. - work in partnership with local and national third sector, independent and statutory organisations, to avoid duplication of support and services and maximise resources available to Carers - deliver counselling sessions by phone, video link, online chat sessions, in a group or as an individual face to face - provision of self-help information and advice to Carers - develop and maintain appropriate information management systems which can provide relevant census data and other information as requested.

Renewal: The option to extend for two 12 month periods will be at the sole descretion of The Council.
