## Summary

Scottish Borders Council is initiating a tender for the management and maintenance of public convenience services and facilities across the Scottish Borders Area. The title of the procurement is "Manage and Maintain the Public Convenience Service and Facilities across the Scottish Borders". This procurement falls within the services industry category and is currently in the planning stage, with a deadline for interested contractors to submit their supplier questionnaires by 14th June 2019. The contract is expected to commence on 1st April 2020 and will initially last for five years, with an option to extend for a further period of five years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the facility management and public service sectors, particularly those that specialise in maintaining public amenities. Companies capable of providing efficient and financially sustainable solutions are well-suited to compete for this contract. The successful contractor will manage 41 facilities, 27 of which currently charge for access, highlighting the need for effective operational management to address budget constraints faced by the Council.

## Notice

Scottish Borders Council (the Council) is seeking one contractor to manage and maintain the public convenience service and facilities across the Scottish Borders Area.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Scottish Borders Council is seeking one contractor to manage and maintain the public convenience service and facilities across the Scottish Borders Area. Of the 41 facilities, 27 are currently charged for access at the point of use at a rate of 30 pence, with the remainder being free (there is no charge for access to RADAR Accessible facilities). Given current budget pressures the Council are seeking a service provision that is efficient and financially sustainable. Currently the income generated from paid access to the toilets at 27 locations, is insufficient to offset total operational costs of the network. It is intended that a Contract shall be for a period of 5 years with the option to extend for a further 5 years, commencing 1st April 2020.. The Council would like to measure the level of interest from contractors who would be interested in providing and managing this service and would therefore request contractors who are interested in this opportunity to completed and return the attached questionnaire by 14th June 2019.
