One action which has been identified to support this goal is to "identify an initial pilot site for self-build" The former site of Brisbane Primary School in Largs has been identified as appropriate land for a pilot project to provide 6 serviced self-build plots. Land will be sold to individuals who are able to obtain a self-build mortgage or can obtain a conventional mortgage with support from the Scottish Government's Self-Build Loan Fund. The land will be sold at market value. Description of Requirement: We are looking for expressions of interest from experienced and registered organisations who provide mortgage advice and products and who will work with self-builders to ensure projects are financially viable, all permissions etc. are secured, and new homes are realised. We would also welcome details of any added value partners may bring to this project as well as a detailed breakdown on any costs which will be incurred by either a) the Council and b) the self-builder.
