Waste Management Services for Lot 3a - Lochaber Receipt, transfer, transport, treatment and/or disposal of residual element of Municipal Solid Waste from Lochaber and Lot 3b - Lochaber Receipt, transfer and transport of mixed dry recyclables from Lochaber to Council identified treatment facility

### Procurement Information

Any supplier wishing to provide this service would have to operate a waste transfer station at the Lot locations - currently no other suppliers operate suitable waste transfer facilities in these areas therefore any supplier wishing to provide this service would have to build the facility. Taking into account the short duration of the proposed contract (31/12/20), it is not considered that suppliers would incur expense in planning applications and the construction of a facility as they would be unable to make a return on investment during the short length of this contract - without significantly increasing their pricing. In addition, any supplier wishing to provide this service would have to apply for planning permission in order to build this facility which is unlikely to happen prior to the end of 30/9/19. No pending planning permission applications in these areas to build a waste transfer facility has been submitted.
