## Summary

The University of St Andrews is currently engaged in a contracting process for a "Strategic Feasibility Study for Philanthropic Campaign." This project falls under the education sector and is located in St Andrews, UK. The tender was initiated with an open procurement method, indicating that all qualified suppliers were welcome to participate. The tendering period ended on 19 June 2019, and the subsequent award was made on 30 July 2019, with a total contract value of £74,000. The contracting authority has outlined five stages for the feasibility study, which will involve extensive stakeholder engagement and reporting.

This opportunity could be advantageous for consultancy firms specialising in philanthropic strategy, education sector consulting, or social impact assessments. Businesses that have experience in conducting feasibility studies, developing case frameworks for support, and engaging with high-net-worth individuals or institutional donors will be particularly well-suited to compete for future contracts of this nature. With the university planning to launch a new philanthropic campaign in 2020, there is potential for longer-term partnerships that will further enhance these firms' growth prospects.

## Notice

It is anticipated there will likely be 5 stages of the feasibility study, subject to confirmation by the selected consultancy firm: 1 Review of current resources including philanthropic capacity, strategic plan documentation, finance reports, and other key publications and reports; 2 Development of a draft case for support, to articulate the proposed themes and priority projects of a philanthropic campaign; 3 Involvement of senior University leadership and key donors; 4 Individual interviews with donors, to test attitudes towards the University, the strategic plan, the draft case for support, volunteering including in relation to the University's commitment to social responsibility, and their willingness to offer philanthropic support and invest in St Andrews (c.50 interviews, predominantly split between UK and US); 5 Report and recommendations. Depending on the outcome of the strategic feasibility study we are seeking to be in a position to launch the quiet phase of a new Campaign in 2020.
