## Summary

The Scottish Government is conducting a procurement process titled "Energy Efficient Scotland – Technical Feasibility of Low Carbon Heating". This initiative falls under the services category with a focus on environmental protection and aims to assess various low carbon heating systems for domestic buildings. The procurement is currently in the award stage, following completion of the tender process, with the contract awarded on 8th July 2019. The total value of the contract is £53,775 and the project will take place in Edinburgh, UK, with the relevant documentation available through Public Contracts Scotland.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in environmental services and renewable energy technologies. Companies with expertise in conducting feasibility studies and assessments related to low carbon solutions for residential sectors would be particularly well-suited to engage in this market. Moreover, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can provide innovative heating technologies and support the Scottish Government's drive towards decarbonisation can position themselves as key contributors to this evolving industry.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The aim of this research project is to further develop our evidence base around low carbon heat which will help to drive and inform our ongoing work to strengthen Scotland's low carbon heat policy framework. The objectives of this project are: 1. Determine a set of archetypes for Scotland's domestic existing building stock; 2. Assess the relative suitability of different low carbon heat technologies for each archetype and identify key characteristics of each archetype which will influence suitability; 3. Assess the overall technical feasibility of low carbon heating in existing domestic buildings; 4. Assess the overall impact of low carbon heating on consumers; and 5. Review the heat technology assumptions within the Scottish TIMES model.
