## Summary

North Ayrshire Council has completed a public procurement process titled "NAC/MC/1126 - Treatment and Disposal of Assorted Waste". This tender falls under the services category, primarily focusing on waste management within the local authority sector. The contract was initiated as a call-off from the Scotland Excel Recyclable and Residual Waste Dynamic Purchasing System, with a total term of 2 years, extendable up to an additional 6 years. The procurement method used was an open procedure, which allows for wider participation from suppliers in the industry. Key dates include the contract signing on 14 June 2019, with various lots addressing different waste streams such as paper, plastics, and textiles, located within the Irvine area of Scotland (postal code KA12 8EE).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the waste management, recycling, and environmental services sectors to expand their operations. Companies specializing in the collection, treatment, and disposal of various waste types, particularly SMEs, will find this an inviting landscape for new contracts. The diversity of lots covers a range of materials, from bulky waste to special waste streams, enabling both small scale operators, like those focussed on textiles or scrap metal, and larger firms, equipped for handling extensive waste treatment processes, to compete effectively.
