## Notice

Scottish Canals have recently been able to secure funding from the SNH Biodiversity Challenge Fund to incorporate additional infrastructure within the Pinkston Basin, which should deliver significant opportunities to improve and develop habitat in the heart of an urban area, whilst delivering aesthetic opportunities and provide additional mitigation to any localised water quality issues. This project will implement the construction a modular and adaptable ecosystem response to deliver the core requirements of the Biodiversity Challenge Fund.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

- Review site potential: -- Identify and confirm target Aichi Species for project; -- Carry out a baseline survey of habitat and target species; - Working with Scottish Canals, develop detailed design of proposals within Pinkston Basin, considering wider aspirations, available budget, installation and long term maintenance; - Fabricate and deliver proposed modular system to Pinkston Basin, which endeavours to meet the generic specification in Appendix A. This specification is not an absolute requirement, however, proposed systems will be evaluated against this specification in terms of quality; - Work with Scottish Canals Operations Teams and volunteer groups to install systems within Pinkston Basin; - Develop and implement process for carrying out annual monitoring and reporting of performance and carry out 3 annual reviews. There is a requirement for annual monitoring to be completed for 10 years, however, is in the intention of Scottish Canals to be able to carry this out internally or to use these requirements to work with local academic organisations as research/training opportunities, therefore, the Contractor should allow for appropriate knowledge transfer.
