## Summary

North Ayrshire Council is seeking to award a contract titled "NAC/2183 - Access Services to Fulfil Statutory Obligations 2019-2022" within the industry category of general public services. This procurement is currently in the Award stage after being initiated on 8th July 2019, with an end date for tender submissions of 5th August 2019. The successful bidder will provide non-destructive access services to council properties throughout North Ayrshire, which aims to ensure the safety of tenants by gaining access to homes that may be denied entry. The total contract value is approximately £93,375, and it is facilitated through an open procurement method.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in service provision within the public sector, especially those focused on maintenance and access solutions. Companies that can demonstrate relevant experience in property management or similar services, particularly SMEs that can commit to high communication standards and customer-focused approaches, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in such tenders not only aids growth by expanding service capabilities but also establishes a reputation within local government contracts, potentially leading to further opportunities.

## Notice

As a landlord, the Council has a duty to carry out maintenance/servicing/inspection of its properties to ensure the safety of tenants and others. Tenants are obliged, as per the conditions of tenancy, to give access to their homes. However, a minority of tenants fail to adhere to the policy and refuse to provide access. The Council has a requirement for a suitably qualified contractor to attend properties with Council officers (or representatives - Engineers, Surveyors and Contractors) and gain access to these properties through non-destructive means. The service will be flexible and customer focused and excellent communication links are essential to the service being delivered successfully.

### Lot Information
