With five bids received, including those from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), there is a competitive landscape that allows businesses with relevant experience and capabilities to advance their portfolios in the public sector while contributing to vital healthcare services in the region. ## Notice The purpose of this high level information is to provide prospective Principal Contractors with information regarding NHS Ayrshire & Arran's project to provide an Acute Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) and a Discharge Lounge via the refurbishment and internal alterations of Ward 1D and Clinic K respectively at University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC), Kilmarnock, KA2 0BE. ### Lot Information Lot 1 The Acute Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) is a Clinical vision to improve Cardiac care for the patients of Ayrshire & Arran. To achieve this, we require to create an integrated high care and in-patient ward with associated support accommodation, including a day care facility adjacent to the ward. The accommodation will provide compliant Cardiology In-patient accomodation including 23 general beds, 6 high-care beds and a day facility, in accommodation that meets current Scottish Healthcare standards and guidelines, for example SHPN No 28, Facilities for cardiac services - design and briefing guidance, HBN50 01-01 Cardiac facilities, SHFN 30 and all relevant SHTMs. Ward 1D was previously a Mental Health ward for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. The ward is currently being used as the Discharge Hub, but previously had 29 Mental Health beds while Clinic K was formally the associated Consulting/Interview Rooms. In order to achieve compliance with the specific standards, significant works are necessary.
