## Summary

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is planning to procure a high-throughput DNA sequencer designed for environmental analysis, specifically aimed at producing reproducible sequencing data for taxonomic classification across various environmental matrices. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a relevant deadline for interested suppliers to submit their contact details by 1:00 PM on 27 August 2019. The supplier selected will need to meet specific technical criteria, and the delivery is expected in Motherwell, Scotland.

This tender presents a promising opportunity for businesses in the environmental technology and equipment sectors, especially those specialising in high-throughput sequencing systems. Companies capable of supplying advanced DNA sequencing instruments that fulfil the outlined requirements may find significant competitive advantages by participating in this procurement process. Engaging with SEPA not only provides a pathway to securing a contract but also enhances visibility and credibility in the growing field of environmental protection and analysis.

## Notice

SEPA wishes to purchase a high-throughput DNA Sequencer capable of producing highly reproducible, targeted sequencing data to allow for the taxonomic classification of a wide variety of environmental matrices.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

A high-throughput DNA sequencer capable of producing highly reproducible, targeted sequencing data to allow for the taxonomic classification of a wide variety of environmental matrices. The instrument must meet the following criteria as a minimum - be capable of targeted gene (amplicon) sequencing - be capable of 16S metagenomics sequencing - be robust, with high throughput and capable of paired-end reads of 2x300bp - be capable of performing in excess of 20 million reads per analytical run - be capable of generating >100000 reads per sample - will have low error rates (
