## Summary

Blackwood Homes and Care, a Registered Social Landlord based in Edinburgh, is conducting a tender for "LD2 Smoke Alarm Upgrades" as part of their initiative to enhance fire safety across approximately 1500 properties throughout Scotland. The procurement method is an open procedure with the current stage being the contract award, completed on 4th November 2019. This contract encompasses four distinct lots covering various regions, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, and Aberdeen, aiming for completion by February 2021. The deadline for submissions was set for 23rd September 2019, with award criteria based on technical, economic, and suitability evaluations.

This procurement presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses engaged in fire safety and alarm system installation, particularly those capable of managing projects across the diverse geographical areas covered by the lots. Suitable candidates might include large contractors or specialised firms with experience in public sector contracts, preferably those familiar with the installation of fire detection and alarm systems. With the competitive landscape shown by the 14 bids across several lots, businesses that can demonstrate technical expertise and effective project management could gain significant advantages in securing these contracts.
