Lot 1

The works comprise the construction of a new footpath from the existing footpath adjacent the Wards Farm access road to the shore of Loch Lomond. The footpath is approximately 1318 m long and the works include footpath construction, verge reinstatement, installation of new access arrangements and new boardwalk lengths. In addition the Contractor will be required to complete the following: - A Construction Methodology Statement to be prepared and approved (allow 1 week for approval) prior to any construction works on site. - Tree protection measures are required to be in place and approved by the client prior to commencement. - The works are within a RSPB site. The presence of certain protected / important species may require specific mitigation depending on the timing of the works and the feeding patterns of wildfowl and badgers in particular. For feeding geese, the Contractor should allow for up to a minimum of 5 days standing time in the event that works need to be halted. The site will be surveyed 30 minutes prior to construction and if feeding geese found construction works will be cancelled for the day. For badger protection, the Contractor shall be required to attend a site briefing regarding badger protection. The Contractor should note that the following work items will be carried out by the client which may be at the same time of the footpath construction works. These are: - Woodland Management Works (Removal & Planting); In addition to the works noted on the drawings, the Contractor should include for the following items: - Clearance of all trees / redundant fence lines and other obstructions to allow construction of the permanent footpath works. - Reinstatement / grass seeding to all detailed areas. - Works to the value noted in the 'Short Schedule Contingency Allowance'. - Inspection by client archaeologist during topsoil strip operations. In the event that any further investigations are required works shall be halted in that area. Allow for fencing off an area of approximately 10 m x 10 m for up to 2 weeks.
