## Summary

The University of Edinburgh has completed a procurement process with the title "NCA20892 Strategic Leadership in Research Training," aimed at enhancing research training and support within the education sector. This procurement was initiated as an open tender, with the contract awarded to 64 Million Artists. The procurement took place in Edinburgh, with the contract signed on 17th September 2019, amounting to £107,800. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in education and training, particularly those who focus on innovative leadership development and interdisciplinary research training. Companies that can deliver customised educational programmes or have expertise in leveraging creativity to enhance academic performance would be well-suited to compete in similar future tenders. With the increased demand for tailored training solutions in the academic sector, businesses that can demonstrate a unique approach to service delivery are likely to find ample prospects for growth.

Institutional Risk The research landscape and expectations placed on researchers are changing, reflected in a clear shift toward funding more large collaborative and challenge-oriented projects that reach across traditional boundaries. Increased demand from across the university sector for bespoke leadership training delivered by external specialists is a natural consequence. In the event that our case to award a contract without competition is unsuccessful, we risk of losing our relationship with the supplier should other institutions procure their services whilst we begin the procurement journey again. This risk should be avoided if at all possible Business continuity Academic interest in the Strategic Leadership in Research Programme 2018/19 was exceptionally high with over 70 researchers from across the University applying for just 24 places. A number of successful applicants had to defer their place until 2019/20 due to unforeseen personal circumstances. We see it as essential that enthusiastic and highly capable individuals have access to the same development opportunity as originally advertised, and that all future participants are able to benefit from continuous improvement resulting from delivering the Programme in 2018/19.
