Specifically for West Lothian children and Young People this service means a 0-18 provision with Qualified Teacher of Visual Impairment (QTVI) input direct to pupils in schools, where required and the training and upskilling of school staff through both presentations and modelling. A variety of technology including iPads and braille equipment is to be provided together with adapted resources including large print and braille. The mobility assessment and programs provided are crucial to allow pupils to travel to/from and move around school independently with canes or other aids.
