## Summary

The West Lothian Council is planning to tender for the provision of Local Bus Services within West Lothian and extending to neighbouring local authorities. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 25th November 2019. The council operates 16 supported local bus service contracts, which account for about 20% of the local bus network and are currently provided on both a minimum cost and minimum subsidy basis. This opportunity is categorised under general public services and is estimated to be worth £17 million. Interested providers must hold relevant PSV licenses and insurances to deliver services with vehicles that have a minimum capacity of 23 passenger seats.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for bus operators and transport service providers looking to expand their business in the region. Companies with expertise in passenger transport, particularly those capable of meeting the council's criteria for the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), would find this an advantageous bidding opportunity. The council also plans to hold a Meet The Buyer event, which will further facilitate engagement between potential bidders and the contracting authority, highlighting a collaborative approach to ensuring the successful delivery of the local bus services.
