Furniture & Fittings

West Dunbartonshire Council Health & Social Care Partnership (WDC HSCP) is the commissioning and end user Client for the new facility, which is currently under construction. The residential Care Home and Day Services development is one of the first projects to be built within the Queens Quay masterplan zone in Clydebank. This future contract opportunity relates to the procurement of loose furniture, fixtures and equipment to fit out the purpose built residential Care Home and Day Services. The building is a bespoke design response to the Queens Quay site immediately adjacent to local land marks such as Clydebank Town Hall, Bruce Street Baths and Clydebank Library. The Care Home and Day Services forms one half of the Queens Quay Health Quarter and the new Clydebank Health & Care Centre will be an immediate neighbour. The accommodation supports the occupation of 84 elderly residents and 50 day service users, staff and visitors. The items being procured are to be of quality with a homely, eclectic feel that meet the technical requirements and supports the delivery of a high standard of care. Each item the residents interact with shall be functional, well designed and support inclusion and diversity of needs. WDC HSCP's vision is to replace the Council's estate incorporating Care Homes and Day Services, to meet Care Inspectorate defined standards of care environments. The objective is to provide service users, their relatives and staff with a modern living and working environment which enables the efficient and effective delivery of services facilitated by a more cost effective estate. The residential home has 85 ensuite bedrooms, one being a training room, arranged in 8 flats to promote group living. Each flat enjoys a Lounge / Kitchen, Sitting Room, Assisted Bathroom and dedicated support services. Residents can make use of Activity Spaces coupled with specifically designed quiet nooks all enjoying views across outdoor terraces, themed courtyards and gardens with views across to the Titan Crane and the River Clyde. The Day Services incorporates diverse accommodation including a Multi-purpose / Cinema experience, Bistro, Hairdressers, Day Room and multiple Activity Spaces. The Hairdressers enjoys a prominent location on the upper floor with spectacular views across Queens Quay which anchors the new facility to Clydebank's past and to it's exciting future. Queens Quay acts as a physical reminder of the shipbuilding legacy and prowess and at the same time also moving us forward through the innovative district heating scheme in and around the Queens Quay basin. Construction is due to complete by the end of May 2020 with the new facility planned to be operational by late summer 2020. The loose furniture, fixtures and equipment fit out will take place immediately following possession by WDC HSCP at the earliest opportunity to permit an opportunity for staff familiarisation and final training in the new premises with the complete provision in place.
