## Summary

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) is currently in the Award stage of its procurement process titled "Digital Workplace Transformation - Smartphones." This initiative falls under the services sector, specifically related to public order and safety, and aims to replace the ageing Blackberry service with smartphones to enhance staff capabilities. The contract, valued at £126,365, was signed on 29 October 2019 and is part of the Crown Commercial Services Network Services 2 framework, specifically Lot 6 for mobile voice and data services. The procurement was conducted using an open procedure, with the procurement location centred in Edinburgh, UK.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in mobile communications and IT services. Businesses that can provide innovative smartphone solutions and support the integration of Microsoft Office 365 could thrive in this competitive landscape. With only one bid submitted, there may be room for more suppliers to engage in future related opportunities, especially those focusing on modern workplace technology and data services to support public sector needs.

## Notice

COPFS has started its Digital Workplace Transformation which aims to leverage modern technology opportunities offering staff the transformative freedom of choice to work using the manner and location that best supports their business objectives. As part of the Digital Workplace Transformation, we are looking to replace the aging Blackberry service with a Smartphone, enabling a standardised approach to e-mail and allow staff to make best use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

We issued a Request For Information to all suppliers in Lot 6 (Mobile voice and data services) on the Crown Ccommercial Services (CCS) Network Service 2 framework (RM3808) to which we received 9 responses. These were evaluated, and discussions held with a number of suppliers who we felt best matched our initial requirements. We reviewed a number of supplier service offers on the Network Services 2 catalogue, before reaching a decision to make a Direct Award.
