## Summary

The procurement process involves an open tender initiated by Stirling Council for the "Roads Maintenance and Improvements Framework," which aims to establish a framework agreement for various road services and works across Stirling, Falkirk, and Clackmannanshire councils. This framework responds to needs for services either to supplement current resources or to handle tasks requiring specific expertise not available in-house. The procurement method employed is open, with bids submitted electronically. The submission deadline was set for 3rd January 2020, with an estimated total value of £24 million over the contract's duration.

This tender presents lucrative opportunities for businesses involved in civil engineering, roadworks, and related services, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies that excel in road resurfacing, maintenance, and associated infrastructure projects would be well-suited to compete for these contracts. The framework not only supports the councils' operational needs but also encourages local economic growth through the inclusion of community benefits—a commitment from successful contractors to support various economic, environmental, and social objectives within the community.
