## Summary

Fife Council is seeking solutions for waste disposal and data management in response to the upcoming 2021 ban on landfill for biodegradable municipal waste. This procurement is currently at the planning stage, with the title "Fife Council - Waste Disposal & Data Management RFI." The project falls under the environmental protection category and is taking place in Glenrothes, UK. A total budget of £80,000 has been allocated for this project, and an important communication date for interested parties is set for 16th December 2019.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in waste management solutions, data automation, and contract management. Companies capable of providing innovative systems that track waste movement, manage contracts and compliance, and integrate user-friendly interfaces would be well-suited to compete. The emphasis on flexible, high-performing products indicates a market for advanced technological solutions, providing potential for business growth in the environmental services industry.

## Notice

From 1st January 2021 the Landfill (Scotland) Regulations 2003 ban biodegradable municipal waste going to Landfill. Alternative solutions have to be put in place to dispose of this type of waste. One of the main alternatives being transferring the waste to Energy from Waste plants to enable energy to be produced from the burning of the material. The Energy from Waste plants require a constant supply of material to ensure the sites are fully operational which is contractually agreed. There is a requirement to monitor the movement of the waste between the various sites, the vehicles required to transport the waste, the feedback from the Energy from Waste plants all in real time and the automation of invoices and management of the contracts.
