### Lot Information

Lot 1

ANGUSalive in partnership with Angus Place Partnership is inviting interest from suitably qualified and experienced consultant(s) to produce a Cultural Strategy for Angus. Purpose This new Cultural Strategy for Angus is set against the growing recognition UK wide, of the importance of cultural activity in the lives of people, communities and places. There is now a clear acknowledgement of the social and economic value of the cultural sector, alongside the intrinsic value of cultural activity as an enriching experience. The Cultural Strategy for Angus should draw on the assets of our region, recognise the activity that is currently in place and create a comprehensive and ambitious yet achievable vision for culture in Angus. We want our strategy to be a document that can set out a five year plan, clarify the skills, experience and capacity that is required to deliver the strategy, and ensure that we have strong partnerships in place to guarantee that it can be realised. Outcomes The vision set out in the Angus Community Plan 2017-30, which is supported by all partners, is to ensure Angus is a great place to live, work and visit. We want culture to play a leading role in realising this vision and the development of a Cultural Strategy devised specifically to achieve this objective is now required. The Community Plan is underpinned by four locality plans with a framework built on three core priorities and nine local outcomes. Core Priorities - Reducing child poverty - Improving mental health and wellbeing - Improving accessibility and connectivity Local Outcomes - an inclusive and sustainable economy - a reduced carbon footprint - attractive employment opportunities - more opportunities for people to achieve success - an enhanced, protected and enjoyed natural and built environment - the best start in life for children - safe, secure, vibrant and sustainable communities - a skilled and adaptable workforce - improved physical, mental and emotional health and well being The cross cutting themes of economy, people and place create the foundation of our work together. The Community Plan also makes a contribution towards the achievement of the Scottish Government's five national strategic objectives. Placemaking is a vital aspect across policy in the region and we know that culture can have a leading role in bringing our towns alive, making them dynamic and building a sense of pride. Placemaking capitalises on a community's unique assets, inspiration and potential with the intention of creating public spaces, places, events and activities that promote people's health, happiness and wellbeing. Culture creates a sense of place, makes an important contribution to our economy and has a critical role to play in improving the outcomes and opportunities for all of our people and communities. The development of a Cultural Strategy for Angus will ensure that culture becomes recognised as an important component of future policy considerations across partners. We expect the strategy, once complete, to be owned, understood and supported by all stakeholders.
