The accommodation supports the occupation of 84 elderly residents and 50 day service users, staff and visitors. The furniture being procured are to be of quality with a homely, eclectic feel that meet the technical requirements and supports the delivery of a high standard of care. Each item the residents interact with shall be functional, well designed and support inclusion and diversity of needs. The procurement is for the entire non-clinical furniture of the care home, including furniture for each suite, as well as social spaces. The objective is to provide service users, their relatives and staff with a modern living and working environment which enables the efficient and effective delivery of services facilitated by a more cost effective estate. The residential home has 85 ensuite bedrooms, one being a training room, arranged in 8 flats to promote group living. Construction is due to complete by the end of May 2020 with the new facility planned to be operational by late summer 2020.
