## Summary

The University of Strathclyde has recently completed a procurement process for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of equipment for producing optical absorption amorphous silicon, valued at €292,425. This procurement falls under the goods category and was executed through a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, in accordance with the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. The successful supplier, Polygon Physics, is situated in Meylan, France. The contract was signed on 21 January 2020, with the equipment intended for installation at the John Anderson Campus in Glasgow.

This opportunity could create significant avenues for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in advanced manufacturing or optical technology equipment. Suppliers capable of producing innovative research-grade machinery may find themselves well-suited to compete in similar tenders. The tender process focused on quality and cost performance, suggesting a preference for businesses that can deliver high-standard, bespoke solutions tailored for academic and research institutions.
