## Summary

The Dumfries and Galloway Council, located in Dumfries, UK, has completed a procurement process titled "Provision of outreach and refuge services to women experiencing domestic abuse in Dumfries and Galloway." This tender falls under the services category and highlights the urgent need for specialist support in addressing domestic abuse. The procurement was conducted through a limited method, specifically an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, due to the previous contracts being outdated and the lack of other local agencies providing the required services. The contract was signed on 1 April 2020, with a total value of approximately £465,551.68 covering two lots targeting specific locations, namely Wigtownshire, as well as Nithsdale, Stewartry, and Annandale & Eskdale.

This procurement presents an opportunity for SMEs specialising in social services and support for survivors of domestic abuse. Companies that offer Outreach and Refuge services, including those with expertise in social work, legal assistance, and community resource development, would be well-positioned to participate in similar future tenders. The focus on providing comprehensive support to vulnerable women and children suggests a need for professionals who can ensure safety, well-being, and empowerment among their clientele, thereby fostering significant growth potential in the social support sector.
