## Summary

Aberdeenshire Council is planning to establish a Flexible Framework for the Flexible Early Learning and Childcare Service - 1140hrs Expansion. This initiative is mandated by the Scottish Government under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, aiming to provide funded placements of 1140 hours per year for eligible children aged 2 to those not yet in Primary School, effective from August 2020. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the application process opening on 20th February 2020. Interested parties are encouraged to apply via email, and the initial review of applications is expected to take 6 weeks, with ongoing reviews thereafter. The delivery location for services will be Aberdeenshire, UK.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for businesses in the early learning and childcare sector, particularly those offering childminding and nursery services. Businesses that can meet national standards and comply with the Council's requirements will be well-suited to compete for this contract. The Flexible Framework, which has a proposed duration of 3 years with the potential for a 2-year extension, allows providers to apply every 3 months, thereby offering regular opportunities for engagement and service provision within the local community.
