Apheresis procedures allow the collection of a single, double or triple adult therapeutic dose of platelets from one donor. Apheresis machines collect whole blood and separate it into its component parts. As the platelets are collected, the other blood components are returned to the donor. The interim contract will be for a period of two years, this will offer supply stability over the period of the contract and allow us to conclude a new OJEU tender. ### Procurement Information Initially the Authorities were going to be utilising the services of a framework contract however plans for this changed at the last minute and the Authorities now require to ensure continuity of service with an interim contract.
