Genomic sequencing, bioinformatic analysis and the identification of potential therapies relay entirely on the timely delivery of the GridION, which provides the swift processing and capability we require. Rapid sequencing of viral genomes from patient samples in collaboration with public health colleagues informs our understanding of the transmission and spread of this virus and contributes to the generation of critical research tools which are shared with the wider research community.
