## Summary

The procurement process described involves Transport Scotland as the buying organisation, which is located in Glasgow, UK. The contract, titled "Integrated Roads Information System (IRIS) incorporating Road Condition Surveys," falls within the transport industry category. This contract is at the award stage, having been signed on 16th June 2020, with a value of £1,000,000. The contract extension is intended to ensure service continuity until November 2021, as part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and aims to facilitate the re-procurement of road condition surveys in compliance with The Public Contract (Scotland) Regulations 2015. The procurement method utilised was a limited tender, specifically an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the transport services sector, particularly those specialising in road condition surveys and data management systems. Suitable competitors may include large-scale service providers with the capability to deliver the required management responsibilities and technical specifications outlined in the contract. This is especially relevant for companies well-versed in public sector procurement and those able to navigate the challenges posed by ongoing logistical issues due to the pandemic. Engaging with this contract could enable businesses to expand their service offerings and establish themselves as key suppliers within the public transport infrastructure space in Scotland.
