## Summary

The University of Edinburgh is currently in the Award stage of the procurement process for the contract titled "EC0892 Small Electrical Works (up to 250,000 GBP)." This contract falls under the works category within the education sector and encompasses various electrical maintenance services across approximately 750 buildings situated in Edinburgh and Midlothian. The awarded contracts, signed on 1st July 2021, involve four suppliers, including Atalian Servest AMK Ltd and JGM - John G Mackintosh, catering to different lots such as "Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences" and "Meds & Vets/Science & Engineering." The total value of the works is significant, with the combined worth being over £3.9 million for one lot and approximately £4.1 million for the other, representing a robust contracting opportunity within the region.

This procurement process provides considerable opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in small electrical works and associated services. Companies of varying scales—both large firms and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—would be well-placed to compete, especially those with experience in servicing educational institutions or large estates. The framework agreement is designed to foster partnerships for ongoing electrical services and maintenance, creating a pathway for sustained business growth in a competitive market. As there is a focus on performance quality alongside cost, businesses that can demonstrate reliability and adhere to compliance and sustainability standards will be particularly advantageous in this bidding process.
