The start of Covid lockdown prevented the University having the time/resources to undertake a full competitive tender process. However, the market was approached less formally via the University's broker to ascertain which insurers could meet our need at the most competitive price. Allianz constituted the best overall value for money. There was fair and transparent selection, but it was not done in a formal process due to the short time before the old policy expired.
