## Summary

The procurement process involves the Scottish Government seeking transcription services for the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry, a critical assignment within the general public services industry. The procurement method adopted is an open procedure, currently in the active tender stage, with a specified submission deadline of 7th October 2020. The contract's estimated value is £4.5 million, and the execution location is in central Edinburgh. The resulting contract period is anticipated to last from 1st March 2021 to 28th February 2025, with an option for a one-year extension.

This tender presents considerable opportunities for businesses specialising in transcription services, especially those equipped to provide real-time transcriptions and secure video conferencing capabilities. Companies with expertise in delivering court reporting services, particularly those familiar with remote delivery systems, will be particularly well-positioned to compete. Furthermore, businesses needing to demonstrate strong financial stability and appropriate levels of insurance will be advantageous in this bidding process.
