## Summary

The Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is currently awarding a contract titled "Mechanical and Electrical Services Framework" in the services industry, focused on the delivery of mechanical and electrical systems within HIE-owned and leased properties, along with various "live" projects across the region. The award date is set for 20th May 2021, and the tender process has been designated as an open procedure, which encourages participation from a variety of providers. This contract allows for no guaranteed minimum workload, as services will be provided on an "as required" basis. The contract will be available for call-off by any current or future HIE subsidiary, and the total anticipated value is approximately £200,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering services, facilities management, and construction. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly well-suited to compete, given that the procurement process has received bids from six SMEs. Additionally, companies that are adept in project management and compliance with health and safety regulations may find this contract to be a promising avenue for growth, as they will be expected to oversee various installations and repairs while collaborating with existing framework suppliers.

## Notice

HIE requires a suitably qualified and experienced mechanical and electrical advisor to oversee the design, planning, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems within HIE owned and leased properties as well as "live" projects across the region. The role will cover a number of key areas within both HIE's commercial and occupied portfolios of buildings through the delivery of new installations, review of current installations and overseeing repairs and asset replacement. The advisor will also provide support and advice to HIE's Facilities Management and Property Teams on the maintenance, operation, repair and lifecycle planning of M&E plant within the estate, as well as advising on HSE requirements. They will be required to work alongside and advise when required to do so by HIE, the existing property and construction framework suppliers.
