## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is focused on acquiring a "National Inventory Management Solution" to facilitate the management and tracking of critical care consumables throughout Scotland. The procurement falls within the health services industry and is currently at the award stage, following a competitive tendering process that employed an open procedure. The contract, valued at approximately £5.8 million, includes a hard deadline for system implementation by 31st March 2021. The services are expected to be delivered across various sites throughout Scotland.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in inventory management software and healthcare solutions. Companies well-equipped to compete should have expertise in providing managed software as a service (SaaS) and experience with compliance to industry standards such as GS1 and PEPPOL. Additionally, firms capable of delivering real-time tracking, supply chain management, and excellent customer support will be well-suited to target this opportunity, particularly in light of the urgent demand stemming from the ongoing public health crisis.
