We wish to award a Framework for providers of school counsellors to enhance the work that schools, services and partners are currently providing in supporting children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

This is for a school counselling service to help to strengthen the current supports that Stirling has in place for children and young people and to provide a further level of support at an earlier and more preventative stage of intervention. The school counselling service will: - Be undertaken by suitably qualified counsellors (BACP or COSCA registered), acting in their specialist role, and in accordance with a strict code of ethics, which requires confidentiality and accountability. - Ensure that all qualified counsellors receive regular clinical supervision, of which will need to be procured through this process. - Complement the range of whole school and targeted approaches already available in schools to help support the mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of children and young people. - Be based mainly in secondary schools and provide input to primary and specialist provisions (for children aged 10 years and above) when a need is identified. Input to primary and specialist provisions might include the delivery of group work, enhancing the skills of staff, advising parent/carers and occasionally individual input for a pupil. - Be part of the work that Stirling's Children's Service is undertaking on improving mental health and wellbeing that aims to nurture the wellbeing of our children and young people and promote a positive relationship based approach, ultimately improving attainment and achievement. - Provide the right support at the right time within Stirling's staged intervention process.
