## Summary

The University of Strathclyde is currently engaged in the procurement process for lab instrumentation intended for the LiFi Research and Development Centre, a vital part of its transition from the University of Edinburgh. This tender, which falls under the education sector (CPV classification 38342000), aims to support cutting-edge research in optical wireless systems. The procurement is at the active tender stage, with submissions due by 23rd November 2020. The open procedure allows wide participation, and the total contract value is £750,000, which further underscores the significant investment in advancing LiFi technology.

This tender presents lucrative opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced laboratory equipment and technology integration, particularly those with expertise in optical wireless solutions. Companies that can demonstrate a strong track record, especially those meeting the stipulated average yearly turnover of £1.5 million, are well-positioned to compete for this contract. The successful supplier will not only contribute to pioneering research but could also establish a long-term relationship with the University of Strathclyde, facilitating future collaborations and contracts in the field of educational technology and research instrumentation.

## Notice

The LiFi R&D Center (LRDC) requires to procure lab instrumentation as part of its move from the University of Edinburgh to the University of Strathclyde. The instrumentation will support the continued research and development in the field of optical wireless systems based on LiFi technology. The equipment should enable cutting edge experimentation that would achieve > 1 Tbps datarates at distances of up to 1 km, as well as experimentation targeted at modest capability in specific use cases where speeds on the order of 1 Gbps are required. The LRDC is looking to procure equipment that is interoperable as well as easy to integrate in the current existing automated workflows which are implemented in the MATLAB programming environment.
