## Summary

Angus Council is initiating a tender for the Enhanced Dementia Care service, aimed at providing specialised care for individuals with dementia and complex needs in Angus, UK. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a key date for potential providers to express interest by 5pm on 12 December 2020. A virtual consultation meeting with providers is likely to be held during the week commencing 14 December 2020. The contract will encompass a block purchase of 6 to 8 beds within a care setting and is classified under general public services.

This tender presents an opportunity for care providers specialising in dementia services and rehabilitation to grow their operations in the region. Businesses that offer innovative care solutions, tailored support, and have the capacity to manage short-term placements for individuals discharged from hospitals would be well-suited to compete. Engaging in this procurement may lead to further opportunities in the healthcare sector, particularly for those focused on enhancing the quality of care for vulnerable populations.

## Notice

Angus Health and Social Care Partnership would like to undertake a consultation exercise with providers in relation to a model of dementia care which would be provided within a care setting. The client group is people with dementia and complex needs who are clinically fit for discharge from hospital. The service specification will be tailored to the specific needs of this client group with dementia and will require appropriate and safe staffing levels. Training, support and in-reach on a regular basis will be available from the Psychiatry of Old Age Liaison Team. The enhanced care service will not be expected to provide long term dementia care but rather an environment where re-enablement, rehabilitation and person centred interventions will facilitate onward placement to a suitable care environment.
