## Summary

The procurement process for the Cambuslang Park and Ride project, conducted by South Lanarkshire Council, is currently at the award stage. The project involves the development of a new facility located off Bridge Street in Cambuslang, focusing on phases of site clearance, drainage, and road construction, including bridge widening and road signage. The formal award notice was issued following a selective procurement method, detailed under the NEC3 Roads Contractors Framework with a contract value of approximately £1,827,980. The award was signed on 9 December 2020, with the project previously classified in the construction industry and infrastructure sector.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in construction and civil engineering. Firms that excel in road works, infrastructure development, and community-focused projects would be well-positioned to compete, especially as the evaluation criteria included community benefits and quality technical proposals. Given that two bids were submitted, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can find a conducive environment to engage in such projects, facilitated by the inclusion of economic advantage weighting towards price and quality in the tendering process.
