## Summary

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is preparing to initiate a tender for the "Maintenance and Inspection of Loose Lifting Equipment" contract, which will be awarded for a duration of up to five years. This procurement falls under the services industry, specifically involving maintenance of lifting equipment at locations including subway stations, Broomloan Depot, and Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow, UK. The current procurement stage is planning, with a deadline for expressions of interest set for 29th January 2021. A future notice is anticipated to be released on 1st March 2021.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in equipment maintenance and inspection services, particularly those with experience in managing assets like overhead cranes and lifting jacks. Companies that can demonstrate capacity for regular maintenance and quick response times for remedial services will be well-positioned to compete. As SPT is likely to award maintenance contracts for new depot equipment in addition to existing assets, firms with a track record of compliance with OEM warranty requirements will have a competitive edge.
