## Summary

The University of Strathclyde, situated in Glasgow, is currently at the tender stage of procuring Isolation Equipment for its Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) Future Manufacturing Research Hub. The tender, titled "Supply, Delivery and Commissioning of Isolation Equipment," has an estimated contract value of between £60,000 and £90,000. The submission deadline for bids is set for 5 March 2021, with the bid opening occurring the same day. This open procurement process aims to enhance the university's pharmaceutical processing capabilities, supporting ongoing and future research projects.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the supply and commissioning of advanced filtration and isolation technologies, particularly those with expertise in the pharmaceutical sector. Companies that can demonstrate robust operational capabilities, particularly those providing innovative solutions for complex particle management, would be well-suited to compete. The requirement for bidders to have prior experience in supplying similar equipment further opens the field to established firms in the industry, potentially leading to partnerships and expanded business growth in advanced manufacturing strategies.

## Notice

To support ongoing and future projects, Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) Future Manufacturing Research Hub is looking to procure an additional filtration/isolation platform to operate in our existing world class facilities in the Technology and Innovation Centre at Strathclyde. This will sit alongside CMAC's existing microfactory research testbeds which are key pillars in our overall pharmaceutical processing capability, providing an expansive and comprehensive array of operations, to aid and support ongoing manufacturing research, the development of specialised filtration/isolation activities and processes, and support industrial partnerships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 (industrial) partners.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

To support ongoing and future projects, CMAC is looking to procure an additional filtration/isolation platform to operate in our existing world class facilities in the Technology and Innovation Centre at Strathclyde. The new purchase must represent a significant advancement and provide a marked improvement at supporting these operations, as evidenced in the response. It is important for CMAC to have a broad range of technologies to support our advanced manufacturing strategies in addition to our digital theme and it is essential that new equipment will be superior to what we have existing. Critical aspects of the equipment are: - robust operation and routine - ease of use with a wide range of particles, - suspensions as well as providing an opportunity for further enhancement - connection/integration with other microfactory platform
