## Summary

The University of Glasgow is seeking providers for the PPE Ref 6784 Direct Award of PPE for an insurance policy that addresses "diagnostic risk" for the Lighthouse Lab, a COVID-19 testing centre located in Glasgow. This procurement is currently completed and was conducted using a limited procurement method, specifically an award procedure without prior publication. The contract was signed on 25th January 2021, and a budget of £750,000 has been allocated to this service. The University operates under the regulations of extreme urgency due to the ever-changing requirements of the COVID-19 pandemic, necessitating an immediate enhancement of its insurance coverage.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly those in the insurance sector, to establish or expand their services in response to urgent public health requirements. Companies that specialise in providing insurance products, especially those with expertise in covering pandemic-related risks, would be particularly well-suited to compete. The limited nature of the procurement process indicates a streamlined selection, making it crucial for potential suppliers to quickly showcase their capabilities and readiness to meet the urgent needs outlined by the University of Glasgow.
