## Summary

The University of Strathclyde has successfully completed a public procurement process for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of an X-Ray Powder Diffraction Screening Platform, aimed at enhancing its Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation Centre. This open tender was conducted under the National Framework Agreement for mass spectrometry and chromatography equipment, with a total contract value of £150,000. The procurement took place at the Technology and Innovation Centre in Glasgow, UK, and the contract was awarded to Bruker UK Limited on 4 March 2021. The procurement process category was classified under goods within the education sector.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses operating in the analytical and scientific equipment sector, particularly those with expertise in advanced X-ray technologies. Suppliers capable of delivering high-quality laboratory equipment can expand their market presence by participating in similar tenders, especially those looking to collaborate with established institutions like the University of Strathclyde. This process also underscores the importance of innovation in supporting industrial partnerships, making it an attractive opportunity for both established and emerging firms in the industry.

## Notice

On behalf of the Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation (CMAC) Centre, the University of Strathclyde sought to acquire a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to supply, delivery and commission a powder X-ray diffraction screening platform to operate in CMAC's existing world class X-ray Facility in the Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

On behalf of the Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation (CMAC) center, the University of Strathclyde conducted a mini-competition under the NWUPC High Value Laboratory Equipment Framework to secure a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to supply, deliver and commission a powder X-ray diffraction screening platform to operate in CMAC's existing world class X-ray Facility in the Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde. CMAC's X-ray suite is a key pillar in the centre's overall analytical capability, providing an expansive and comprehensive array of X-ray techniques, to aid the day to day and specialised analyses of the crystallisation activities, and support industrial partnerships with Tier 1 (industrial) partners. Replacing an older piece of equipment, CMAC required the new equipment represent a significant advancement in technology, providing marked improvement at supporting the centre to achieve its objectives.
