## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by Food Standards Scotland (FSS), is for the project titled "Secondary Analysis of Data from 2018 Pilot of Intake24 in SHeS." This process falls under the services category and was located in Aberdeen, UK. The procurement method employed was a limited procedure, specifically an award without prior publication of a call for competition. The project was awarded on 1st February 2021, with a contract valued at £50,000, aiming to refine dietary intake analysis from data collected in previous surveys.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in data analysis, public health research, and dietary studies. Companies with expertise in conducting secondary data analysis, particularly those familiar with dietary intake methodologies and public health initiatives, would be well-suited to compete for similar opportunities in the future. Engaging with projects like these can boost a firm's profile and expand its portfolio in the health services sector.

### Procurement Information

Newcastle University developed Intake24 to measure population dietary intakes in Scotland. They have, worked with ScotCen on a field test and pilot and have carried out the dietary analysis to date. As the originators, they understand the processes behind the collection and analysis of the data. They have prepared the report of the pilot survey and published a number of peer-reviewed publications on Intake24. Their work on the surveys has been selected as an example from Newcastle University for the UK Research Excellence Framework. They hold the dataset at present and have capacity to work on this project from Dec 20 to Mar 21. This project will ensure that the data will be publically archived once analysis is complete.
