## Summary

Transport Scotland is preparing for the procurement of the Traffic Scotland Systems Contract (TSSC), aimed at ensuring the support, maintenance, modernisation, and development of the Traffic Scotland systems, which are crucial for managing the Scottish trunk road network. This procurement, classified under services, is currently in the planning stage, with a proposed value of £47 million. The contract is expected to last for an initial term of five years, with the option for two one-year extensions. A virtual Information Day is scheduled for 31 March 2021 to further outline the contract requirements and engage potential suppliers, while a contract notice is anticipated to be published in late April 2021.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in transport technology and system integration, particularly those experienced in intelligent transport systems and software development. Companies that can provide robust ICT solutions and maintain complex databases will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Engaging in this procurement process could foster growth for participants, as they would have the chance to contribute to the management of vital transport infrastructure in Scotland, while building a long-term partnership with a key government agency.
