## Summary

The University of Edinburgh is conducting a procurement process for the title "Application Development," which focuses on creating a Track & Trace service in Uganda. This project falls under the education industry category and is located in Edinburgh, with the application development services being delivered specifically in Kampala, Uganda. The procurement method used is a limited procedure, conducted without prior publication of a call for competition, with the contract officially signed on 11 March 2021. The procurement has now reached the award stage, with a total contract value of £125,557.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in IT services, particularly those specialising in application development and integration with health data systems. Companies that can enhance supply chain efficiency and contribute to public health initiatives in lower-income countries would be particularly well-suited for this contract. As the University of Edinburgh works alongside the Ugandan Ministry of Health, firms with expertise in COVID-19 related technological solutions may find this an advantageous marketplace to expand their operations.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

As part of the NIHR Global Effort on COVID-19 (GECO); to mitigate health impacts of COVID-19 in low/middle-income countries, the University has been working with the Ministry of Health in Uganda to develop a track and trace mobile application. The mobile app is tailored to haulage drivers; to reduce potential bottlenecks in supply chains caused by mandatory border COVID-19 testing. A successful track and trace system should reduce the requirement for drivers to wait at borders for 14-26 hours, reducing the risk of delays to the supply of goods and medicines.

### Procurement Information

This project involves access and transmission of health data related to COVID-19 and integration of IT systems; which Bodastage are able to do in conjunction with the Ugandan Ministry of Health and the Haulage network Union of Uganda.
